Question 1

How long before I can walk on it and put the room back together?

Accepted Answer

Plan on four to eight hours damp to the touch, longer in a unit facing the channels. Marine layer mornings May through September and high overnight humidity off Santa Monica Bay mean carpet here doesn't dry the way it does inland, and forced air rarely runs to help. We bring air movers and leave them running on the wet areas. Socks on the carpet are fine right away, and furniture goes back once the pile feels dry at the base.

Question 2

Walk me through what you actually do once you arrive.

Accepted Answer

We inspect the carpet, note traffic lanes and stains, then dry vacuum to pull out the loose beach sand sitting at the base of the pile. Pre-spray goes down and sits long enough to break up the soil, high-traffic areas get agitated, and then we hot water extract with a truck-mounted unit. We finish with grooming and air movers, and in elevator-access buildings we run hose through the hallway with corner guards and door protection.

Question 3

Realistically, how often does carpet need this?

Accepted Answer

Most Marina del Rey households land on every nine to twelve months. Fine sand from Venice and Dockweiler tracks in constantly and works down to the backing, where it cuts fibers every time someone walks across it. Ground-floor units, dogs, and anyone on a direct path from the beach should plan on every six to nine months instead.

Question 4

What moves the number up or down on carpet cleaning?

Accepted Answer

Square footage of carpet is the base, then it shifts with how deep the sand has worked in, how many pet spots need treatment, and whether stairs are involved. Townhome complexes with two or three carpeted levels take longer than a single-floor condo of the same footage. Elevator access and long hose runs add time on high-rise jobs. We look at the carpet in person, give you a free estimate, and the number we hand you is the number you pay.

Question 5

Do I need to clear the furniture out first?

Accepted Answer

We move sofas, chairs, tables, and light dressers, then set them back on blocks or tabs so nothing wicks or stains while drying. Beds, large wall units, pianos, and anything with electronics we clean around. If you want a bedroom done fully, strip the nightstand and we'll handle the rest.

Question 6

Does booking for today change what I pay?

Accepted Answer

No. Same-day work is billed exactly like work scheduled a week out. Turnover between tenants moves fast in this market, so we keep slots open for landlords and property managers who need a unit cleaned before a walkthrough.
